This time I bought more crazies who will gladly headbang with me. Poy, Shiela, Jean, Odina and of course Simon. Congratulations to all of you for your first international band concert! One thing I realized, It is so much better jumping to a breakdown when there are 6 of you.

I didn't expect that the crowd would get so wild. Even though there were less than 200 people on the front rows (even less at ours), it still felt like the whole place was in chaos. It didn't matter how few people were there, as long as every single one those heads will bang to every riff, scream at every chorus, jump at every breakdown, then the whole place will come to life. I think we all did a pretty good job as fans that night.

They opened up with What the Hell is a Gigawatt, which I guessed correctly. They played 16 songs! It takes a great amount of energy required to play their songs, and I never expected they could play so many. They played Heroes at the end of their set, and the crowd just ripped the place up. Then they played Wasting Time for the encore, which I think got the most audience participation. I was also surprised when they played The Security of the Familiar, since it was new and wasn't one of their singles. It's one of my favorite songs in the new album, because the beat is just addicting and the lyrics are nice.

The band played really well, even if the vocals ran out of breath at times. There was so much energy, the beards were everywhere. It was crazy as I knew all of their songs, so I tried singing (screaming) along to most of them (I didn't know all the lyrics). If you know FYS, then you know that it's impossible to sing along to every line of their songs as they are sang pretty fast, and there are two vocalists alternating the lines. Bada Bing was especially hard to sing along to. My voice started to go bye2x by the 2nd song, and was goners after the concert.

      The setlist, not in order:

      1. Heroes get remembered, Legends never die
      2. Bada bing wit a Pipe
      3. Catastrophe
      4. Maniac
      5. Prepare to be Digitally Manipulated
      6. What the Hell is a Gigawatt?
      7. Wasting Time
      8. It must suck to be Four Year Strong right now
      9. Enemy of the World
      10. On a Saturday
      11. Stuck in the Middle
      12. Just Drive
      13. Sweet Kerosene
      14. Heaven wasn't built to hold me
      15. The Security of the Familiar, the Tranquility of Repetition
      16. The Infected

One of many albums I wished I got to listen to in high school. I will soon make a list of these. It's very sad that I only started listening to this album when I was nearing college graduation.

Every song in this album screams of high school. The only song I knew off it that time was "The middle". I watched the video a hundred times on MTV. One of the best videos I've seen that year. It's like a whole teen movie in 3 mins. Other than that, I knew nothing else about Jimmy Eat World.

Though it's a bit surprising that I can still relate to a lot of the songs in Bleed American, especially with "Praise chorus" and "The middle". These two songs are the hard hitters. Then next to that would be "The sweetness". Then there are the two softies, "Your house" and "Hear you me". These songs would have been perfect anthems for wild/confusion-filled evenings with friends, just screaming the lines into starlit skies.

Do you know that feeling you get when it's late at night and you're busy doing something and all of the sudden you realize you're alone?

      tinysong.com/EVnf

Everybody is asleep and you can't talk or see anybody.

The thought of being alone sends a shiver through your spine and you feel that you are floating outside of your body and looking through the eyes of another person.

You continue to type on the keyboard but the hands feel like they are not yours, like you are only controlling another object that has hands. You are in control, and yet you are not. You can't feel anything else outside of the body, the body has become your entire world. Just you and the body. That's how I feel like when I'm listening to Explosions in the sky.
